1) Allah ﷻ says :
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا لِّتَسْكُنُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةًۭ وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
And one of His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find comfort in them. And He has placed between you compassion and mercy. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.
~Surah ar-Rum 30:21
2) Sayyidna Rasul-Allah ﷺ said :
خِيَارُكُمْ خِيَارُكُمْ لِنِسَائِهِمْ
“The best of you are those who are the best to their wives.”
~Sunan Ibn Majah, 1978
3) Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq said :
مِنْ أَخْلاقِ الأنْبِيَاءِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِمْ حُبُّ النِّسَاءِ.
“Amongst the Ikhlaq of the Prophets is loving your spouse.”
~Kitab al-Kafi vol 5, Book 3:1
4) Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq said :
مَا أَظُنُّ رَجُلا يَزْدَادُ فِي الإيمَانِ خَيْراً إِلا ازْدَادَ حُبّاً لِلنِّسَاءِ.
“I don’t think a man can increase any good in his Iman except that he increases his love for his wife.”
~Kitab al-Kafi, vol 5, Book 3:2
5) Sayyidna Rasul-Allah ﷺ said :
مِنْ سَعَادَةِ الْمَرْءِ الزَّوْجَةُ الصَّالِحَةُ
“Of the biggest happiness for a man is a pious wife.”
~Kitab al-Kafi, vol 5, book 7:4
6) Sayyidna Rasul-Allah ﷺ said :
إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى عَلَى الْإِنَاثِ أَرْأَفُ مِنْهُ عَلَى الذُّكُورِ وَ مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يُدْخِلُ فَرْحَةً عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ بَيْنَهُ وَ بَيْنَهَا حُرْمَةٌ إِلَّا فَرَّحَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ .
“Allah ﷻ is kinder to the female than to the males and whoever wishes that Allah ﷻ makes him happy on the day of judgment should bring happiness to his female kins.”
~Kitab al-Kafi vol 6, Book 1:7
7) Sayyidna Rasul-Allah ﷺ said :
إِنَّ خَيْرَ نِسَائِكُمُ الْوَلُودُ الْوَدُودُ الْعَفِيفَةُ الْعَزِيزَةُ فِي أَهْلِهَا الذَّلِيلَةُ مَعَ بَعْلِهَا الْمُتَبَرِّجَةُ مَعَ زَوْجِهَا الْحَصَانُ عَلَى غَيْرِهِ الَّتِي تَسْمَعُ قَوْلَهُ وَتُطِيعُ أَمْرَهُ
“The best women are the child bearing, loving, chaste, loved by his husband, humble with him, showing her beauty to him and a fortress from strangers and one who obeys him.”
~Kitab al-Kafi vol 5, Book 4:1
8) Imam Ali said :
الْهَيِّنَةُ اللَّيِّنَةُ الْمُؤَاتِيَةُ الَّتِي إِذَا غَضِبَ زَوْجُهَا لَمْ تَكْتَحِلْ بِغُمْضٍ حَتَّى يَرْضَى وَإِذَا غَابَ عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا حَفِظَتْهُ فِي غَيْبَتِهِ فَتِلْكَ عَامِلٌ مِنْ عُمَّالِ اللهِ وَعَامِلُ اللهِ لا يَخِيبُ.
“The best women are five – simple, soft spoken and good to talk to, when her husband is angry, she doesn’t neglect him until he is happy and when he is not around, she takes care of his affairs, that is the worker of Allah and a worker of Allah is never disappointed.”
~Kitab al-Kafi, vol 5, book 4:5
9) Sayyidna Rasul-Allah ﷺ said :
مَا اسْتَفَادَ امْرُؤٌ مُسْلِمٌ فَائِدَةً بَعْدَ الإسْلامِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ زَوْجَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ تَسُرُّهُ إِذَا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا وَتُطِيعُهُ إِذَا أَمَرَهَا وَتَحْفَظُهُ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهَا فِي نَفْسِهَا وَمَالِهِ.
“There is nothing better for a man after Islam than a believing woman who makes his feel tranquility when he looks at her and she gives when he asks and protects him when he isn’t around.”
~Kitab al-Kafi, vol 5, book 7:1
10) Allah ﷻ says :
إِذَا أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَجْمَعَ لِلْمُسْلِمِ خَيْرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ جَعَلْتُ لَهُ قَلْباً خَاشِعاً وَلِسَاناً ذَاكِراً وَجَسَداً عَلَى الْبَلاءِ صَابِراً وَزَوْجَةً مُؤْمِنَةً تَسُرُّهُ إِذَا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا وَتَحْفَظُهُ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهَا فِي نَفْسِهَا وَمَالِهِ.
“When I intend good for a Muslim man in this world and the next, I give him a God-fearing heart, a tongue which is filled with My remembrance, a body that bears patience in hardships and a wife brings him tranquility when he looks at her and she protects her in his absence.”
