Ibn Hajr al-Haythami mentioned :

ﻭﻟﻤﺎ ﺩﺧﻞ ﻧﻴﺴﺎﺑﻮﺭ ﻛﻤﺎ ﻓﻲ ﺗﺎﺭﻳﺨﻬﺎ ﻭﺷﻖ ﺳﻮﻗﻬﺎ ﻭﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻣﻈﻠﺔ ﻻ ﻳﺮﻯ ﻣﻦ ﻭﺭاﺋﻬﺎ ﺗﻌﺮﺽ ﻟﻪ اﻟﺤﺎﻓﻈﺎﻥ ﺃﻭ ﺯﺭﻋﺔ اﻟﺮاﺯﻱ ﻭﻣﺤﻤﺪ ﺑﻦ ﺃﺳﻠﻢ اﻟﻄﻮﺳﻲ ﻭﻣﻌﻬﻤﺎ ﻣﻦ ﻃﻠﺒﺔ اﻟﻌﻠﻢ ﻭاﻟﺤﺪﻳﺚ ﻣﺎ ﻻ ﻳﺤﺼﻰ ﻓﺘﻀﺮﻋﺎ ﺇﻟﻴﻪ ﺃﻥ ﻳﺮﻳﻬﻢ ﻭﺟﻬﻪ ﻭﻳﺮﻭﻱ ﻟﻬﻢ ﺣﺪﻳﺜﺎ ﻋﻦ ﺁﺑﺎﺋﻪ ﻓﺎﺳﺘﻮﻗﻒ اﻟﺒﻐﻠﺔ ﻭﺃﻣﺮ ﻏﻠﻤﺎﻧﻪ ﺑﻜﻒ اﻟﻤﻈﻠﺔ ﻭﺃﻗﺮ ﻋﻴﻮﻥ ﺗﻠﻚ اﻟﺨﻼﺋﻖ ﺑﺮﺅﻳﺔ ﻃﻠﻌﺘﻪ اﻟﻤﺒﺎﺭﻛﺔ ﻓﻜﺎﻧﺖ ﻟﻪ ﺫﺅاﺑﺘﺎﻥ ﻣﺪﻟﻴﺘﺎﻥ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻋﺎﺗﻘﻪ

When Imam Ali al-Ridha ع entered Nishapur, he had a covering on his face, so that He isn’t recognized. Still, He was confronted by the great Huffaz, the likes of Abu Zura’a al-Raazi, Muhammad ibn Aslam al-Tusi and with them were the students of knowledge and hadith. They requested Imam al-Ridha to show them his face and narrate to them a narration from his ancestors. He allowed them to see his blessed self.

ﻭاﻟﻨﺎﺱ ﺑﻴﻦ ﺻﺎﺭﺥ ﻭﺑﺎﻙ ﻭﻣﺘﻤﺮﻍ ﻓﻲ اﻟﺘﺮاﺏ ﻭﻣﻘﺒﻞ ﻟﺤﺎﻓﺮ ﺑﻐﻠﺘﻪ ﻓﺼﺎﺣﺖ اﻟﻌﻠﻤﺎء ﻣﻌﺎﺷﺮ اﻟﻨﺎﺱ

When the people saw him, they screamed and cried and some crawled through the mud and kissed the soil under.

ﻓﻘﺎﻝ ﺣﺪﺛﻨﻲ ﺃﺑﻲ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ اﻟﻜﺎﻇﻢ ﻋﻦ ﺃﺑﻴﻪ ﺟﻌﻔﺮ اﻟﺼﺎﺩﻕ ﻋﻦ ﺃﺑﻴﻪ ﻣﺤﻤﺪ اﻟﺒﺎﻗﺮ ﻋﻦ ﺃﺑﻴﻪ ﺯﻳﻦ اﻟﻌﺎﺑﺪﻳﻦ ﻋﻦ ﺃﺑﻴﻪ اﻟﺤﺴﻴﻦ ﻋﻦ ﺃﺑﻴﻪ ﻋﻠﻲ ﺑﻦ ﺃﺑﻲ ﻃﺎﻟﺐ ﺭﺿﻲ اﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻨﻬﻢ ﻗﺎﻝ ﺣﺪﺛﻨﻲ ﺣﺒﻴﺒﻲ ﻭﻗﺮﺓ ﻋﻴﻨﻲ ﺭﺳﻮﻝ اﻟﻠﻪ ﷺ ﻗﺎﻝ (ﺣﺪﺛﻨﻲ ﺟﺒﺮﻳﻞ ﻗﺎﻝ ﺳﻤﻌﺖ ﺭﺏ اﻟﻌﺰﺓ ﻳﻘﻮﻝ ﻻ ﺇﻟﻪ ﺇﻻ اﻟﻠﻪ ﺣﺼﻨﻲ ﻓﻤﻦ ﻗﺎﻟﻬﺎ ﺩﺧﻞ ﺣﺼﻨﻲ ﻭﻣﻦ ﺩﺧﻞ ﺣﺼﻨﻲ ﺃﻣﻦ ﻣﻦ ﻋﺬاﺑﻲ

The Imam mentioned to the Huffaz :

It is narrated from my father, Musa al-Kadhim on the authority of his father, Ja’far al-Sadiq who narrated from his father, Muhammad al-Baqir, who narrated from his father, Zayn al-Abideen, who narrated from his father, al-Husayn Ibn Ali who said :

Imam Ali said : My beloved, the calmness of my eyes, Rasul-Allah ﷺ said that Jibrael informed him that The Lord Most High says :

‘Giving testimony that there is no god but Allah is My fortress and whoever enters My fortress has entered into safety from My torment.’

ﺛﻢ ﺃﺭﺧﻰ اﻟﺴﺘﺮ ﻭﺳﺎﺭ ﻓﻌﺪ ﺃﻫﻞ اﻟﻤﺤﺎﺑﺮ ﻭاﻟﺪﻭﻯ اﻟﺬﻳﻦ ﻛﺎﻧﻮا ﻳﻜﺘﺒﻮﻥ ﻓﺄﻧﺎﻓﻮا ﻋﻠﻰ ﻋﺸﺮﻳﻦ ﺃﻟﻔﺎ ﻭﻓﻲ ﺭﻭاﻳﺔ ﺃﻥ اﻟﺤﺪﻳﺚ اﻟﻤﺮﻭﻱ اﻹﻳﻤﺎﻥ ﻣﻌﺮﻓﺔ ﺑﺎﻟﻘﻠﺐ ﻭﺇﻗﺮاﺭ ﺑﺎﻟﻠﺴﺎﻥ ﻭﻋﻤﻞ ﺑﺎﻷﺭﻛﺎﻥ

Then the Imam went off and there were more than twenty thousand people writing it. He also narrated a hadith which says ‘Faith is knowledge in the heart, words on the tongue and action with the physical body.’

ﻗﺎﻝ ﺃﺣﻤﺪ ﻟﻮ ﻗﺮﺃﺕ ﻫﺬا اﻹﺳﻨﺎﺩ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺠﻨﻮﻥ ﻟﺒﺮﻯء

Ahmad Bin Hanbal said ‘If this chain (from Imam Ali al-Ridha through the Prophet ﷺ to Allah ﷻ), if this is recited upon an insane person, he would be cured.

al-Safoori mentioned :

ﻗﺎﻝ اﻹﻣﺎﻡ ﺃﺣﻤﺪ ﻟﻮ ﻗﺮﺃﺕ ﻫﺬا اﻹﺳﻨﺎﺩ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺠﻨﻮﻥ ﻟﺒﺮﺃ ﻣﻦ ﺟﻨﻮﻧﻪ ﻗﻴﻞ ﺃﻧﻪ ﻗﺮﺃﻩ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺼﺮﻭﻉ ﻓﺄﻓﺎﻕ

Ahmad Bin Hanbal said: If you read this chain of transmission (the name of Ali al-Ridha to Allah) to a madman, he would be cured of his madness. It was said that he read it to an epileptic and he regained consciousness.

Ibn Majah al-Qazwini mentioned :

قَالَ أَبُو الصَّلْتِ لَوْ قُرِئَ هَذَا الإِسْنَادُ عَلَى مَجْنُونٍ لَبَرَأَ ‏.

Abu al-Salt al-Harrawi said : ‘If this chain (From Ali al-Ridha to Allah ﷻ) is read upon an insane person, he would be cured. ‘

Abu al-Qasim al-Qazwini mentioned :

ﻭﻋﻦ ﺑﻦ ﺃﺑﻲ ﺣﺎﺗﻢ اﻟﺮاﺯﻱ ﻗﺎﻝ ﻛﻨﺖ ﻣﻊ ﺃﺑﻲ ﺑﺎﻟﺸﺎﻡ ﻓﺮﺃﻳﺖ ﺭﺟﻼ ﻣﺼﺮﻭﻋﺎ ﻓﺬﻛﺮﺕ ﻫﺬا اﻻﺳﻨﺎﺫ ﻓﻘﻠﺖ ﺃﺟﺮﺏ ﺑﻬﺬا ﻓﻘﺮﺃﺕ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻫﺬا اﻹﺳﻨﺎﺩ ﻓﻘﺎﻡ اﻟﺮﺟﻞ.

Ibn Abi Haatim al-Raazi said : ‘I went to Syria with my father and I saw a man suffering from epilepsy, I remembered this sanad and I recited their names to him and the man stood up (i.e cured)’
